Attendance Policy

State law and school board policy require that, in order to receive grades, a student must be present a minimum of 161 days based on the school year.  Students can miss NO MORE THAN 14 DAYS OF SCHOOL.  When a student has five unexcused absences or tardies, he/she is considered truant and his/her parent may be referred to the Child Welfare and Attendance Supervisor and the District Attorney’s office for prosecution or intervention. When a student is absent, a parent note or doctor excuse MUST be turned in within 5 days of the last absence date.  No more than 5 parent notes can be accepted through the school year.

Back Packs

With the start of the 2022-2023 school year, all backpacks/book sacks have to be either clear or mesh. 

Dress Code

All students are required to wear school uniforms which include khaki or navy blue bottom with, navy, white or gray polo/oxford shirts.  All students are required to tuck in their shirts and wear black, brown or navy belts.  Elastic waists are allowed for grades Pre-K-3rd.  Jumpers, skirts, shorts, or skorts should not be shorter than 4 inches above the knee.  Capris are acceptable, hip huggers, baggy or oversized clothes are not permitted. Tights or socks should be black, white, or navy.  

Footwear should not be a safety hazard:  Crocs, flip-flops, slides are not permitted.  Students may wear sandals with a back strap.  Boots are to be worn under the pants legs and pant legs must cover the top portion.

Hair Styles

Hair must be of natural colors.  Fluorescent and/or rainbow colors are not permitted.  Afros are to measure from the scalp and not to exceed 2 inches.  The length of a boy’s hair should not pass the top of the shirt collar and must be above the eyebrows.
